With growing coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Victoria, the State Government has taken further steps to help keep our communities safe with different restrictions be applied to different areas in Victoria.
Melbourne’s new mandatory mask rules
From 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July, there will be changes in restrictions to help reduce the risk of the virus spreading.
With ‘Stay at Home’ restrictions apply to metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. The rest of Victoria will continue to follow restrictions that came into effect on Wednesday 8 July 2020.

Ideal for cooler conditions to keep the head and neck warm. The ribbed fabric allows for a snug comfortable fit while covering the nose and mouth of the wearer. The Balaclava is machine washable and comes in Black or Navy.
You are encouraged to wear a face covering when leaving home and if you are not able to keep 1.5 metres from others. If you need to travel into metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire after 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July, you must wear a face covering.
